MEET THE FOUNDING FATHERS

Goody Goodsall

Just like Lochlan, I also grew up in Rockhampton, but somehow we never crossed paths considering all the sport we played. I grew up playing Soccer, Tennis, and Rugby League. I love participating in sports, however golf was something that I never thought id see myself playing. So I decided to give it a go a couple of years ago with my old man's clubs, they were old, rusted, and it didn't even have a driver, it has a wooden 3-wood instead! I decided to gather some mates, and from that point on, I have never had so much fun when we get together for a round. Drinks, laughs, and a great time socialising for us beginner to amateurs is what it's all about. Thus started the Coastal Crew Golf Co. Uniting beginner to amateur golfers, while making new mates, lots of laughs and a few drinks while we probably yell four!! That's what it's all about.

Growing up in Rockhampton, Central Queensland, life was always about sport. On the weekends it was either soccer, touchy footy, or the great game of cricket while meeting some lifelong friends through sport. As I got older and moved down to Brisbane to study at university, I unfortunately lost touch with my biggest passions. One sport I have been able to sink my teeth into, play with my mates again, and spend quality time – is golf. Coastal Crew Golf Co is an exciting business started by a group of mates. We want to modernize the way people view a golfing community. It`s an army of golf and party. There`s more than just teeing off at your local golf course, to me the fun part is all the events that will allow people to come together on our social calendar.

Mathew Haynes

Brisbane boy who has always supported teams south of the border, sports was introduced to me in my early years, playing rugby league in the winter and cricket in the summer. The standard Australian upbringing. My earliest memories of the game of golf were at Chambers Pines golf course with my grandfather, hitting the driving range and the golf course. Fast forward to 2023 where I made a life changing decision to pursue a career in the sports industry. This is where the Coastal Crew was born. The Coastal Crew has allowed me to find my love for the game of golf again. We pride ourselves on being the average everyday Golfer who loves to head out with mates, have a Laugh and a good time.

As a sports lover, I can watch all sports from cricket to league and everything in between. But due to my lack of athletic ability, golf is one sport I’ve found I can get out there and try my best. Hitting the ball down the fairway and having fun with my mates is what it's about. Coastal Crew is a great way to a golfing community together and have some social fun while also looking to bring the handicap down.

As a kid growing up in Bundaberg, sports were something that I grew up with and could never see myself without. Choosing between rugby league, basketball and tennis was a toss up but one sport that stuck with me through it all was the game of golf. The endless tennis lessons and marvelling over my ‘best defender’ trophy in my under 8 footy side didn’t seem to translate into me being a professional athlete, so golf was all that was left. There’s nothing I love more than being able to sink a few tins with your mates, all while arguing over whether that 20 foot putt is a gimme. Being able to start a company that embraces mateship, character, fun, and of course golf, is what the Coastal Crew is all about, and what I am so proud to be apart of.
